1. Happy Passover! Chag Sameach! We will be trying to balance Spartacus' recently-established bedtime routine with the seder; I'm not sure how well it's going to work. We will also probably try feeding him gefilte fish, if he's awake at the right time for it -- heck, he's liked everything else we've tried him on, including beets (a triumph of ambition over common sense in other respects).

2. All of a sudden I see posts about Dreamwidth everywhere. What's going on? Do I have to move? Are half my friends going to up sticks and move off LJ? I need time to get used to this!

3. We've been in SF for more than ten days, and have yet to turn on the television, largely due to the abovementioned bedtime routine -- but I don't seem to miss it. At some point I'll post about the reading I've managed.

4. But back in Oxford I found myself watching quite a lot of Gilmore Girls on daytime reruns -- since I never watched it when it was on. Emily is my favorite, but what I really want to know is where is all the Paris fic? Where are the stories where she uses her OCD powers for good for evil to take over the universe? Where are the unlikely crossovers where she pairs up with characters like Temperance Brennan or Lex Luthor (hahahahaha! no, really, it would be awesome)? Please tell me all this stuff exists out there somewhere!

Happy holiday to you! I hope Spartacus enjoys his first seder.

I don't know how many people are planning to jump ship to Dreamwidth but AFAICT it's designed to be pretty seamless with LJ - automatic cross-posting, OpenID commenting, etc. I plan to move over if it is in fact that easy to keep track of everyone here (being lazy).

I adore Paris Gellar. I had dreams of a story where she and Michel go on a road trip and somehow manage to not kill each other. However, I have never managed to write her. Michel, a little.

I suspect that not much Paris fic was written, sadly.

Really? I STR seeing a fair amount of Rorey/Paris, although I never went looking for it.

In the greater context of the fandom? There was a whole lot of Rory/Dean, Rory/Tristan, and Rory/Jess. There were us old people who liked Luke/Lorelai. It always struck me as a sort of traditional het teen fandom in a lot of ways.

Happy Passover! The only Paris fic recommendation I can think of off the top of my head is Jae's Boston Marriage, and I'm afraid that in it she uses her powers on a smaller scale than she would with Lex around.

Well, DreamWidth is in closed beta yet, going to open beta at the end of the month. It should be very easy to keep track of everyone regardless of a migration, but if you need an invite during open beta, just let me know.

(For the record, you can sign in with an OpenID using a livejournal account and a verified email address, so you do not require an invite even now to see people's posts over there.)

Happy Passover!

I believe [info]callmesandy and [info]mosca have written some fantastic Paris/Rory fic, and iirc, there was an amazing Emily gen story a few years ago at Remix. Also, I'm pretty sure there's a good Paris/Chloe from Smallville story hanging around somewhere, as well.

Happy Passover!
I've heard something about DreamWidth, but I'm not planning on jumping out of the LJ ship unless my entire flist goes there too. I'm quite settled here.
